Where the Sidewalk Ends: Family Arts Festival
Join us on Saturday, March 27th from 10am - 5pm as we host the first annual Where the Sidewalk Ends: Family Arts Festival. Watch local artists recreate famous works of art on the sidewalks of Thornebrook Shopping Village. We will have live reenactments of famous paintings performed by local students and actors including the Mona Lisa, The Last Supper and many more.
A special section will be dedicated for children of all ages to try their hand at original designs as well as recreations of these famous works of art. Easels and materials including paint, chalk, charcoal and more will be provided so that you can step into a live painting. See through the eyes of the artist as you recreate what you see while having the opportunity to be inspired by local artists. Live music and food will be available as well. Chalk it up for Youth Art Month and join us for this inspiring event.

Gainesville Kids say MORE!
Tobin Wagstaff of Studio Percussion will host Gainesville Kids SAY More: Sing! Art! Yoga! More! - a kids’ event to help spark creativity through music on Sunday, March 21 from 2-5pm. Shana Banana teams up with Gainesville native Eve Vance Fleishman, a children’s music performer visiting from Nashville , TN. The two award-winning performers and educators will blend their unique styles for this fun-filled family event. Kids will enjoy an interactive concert, a songwriting session, and a yoga music class. Gainesville Creative Kids will be on hand to lead an art activity. The event will culminate in a grand finale jam session, where kids can sing and play along with percussion instruments.
Shana Banana® and Eve each tour nationally with their original children’s music. They are excited about this collaboration and opportunity to teach creative expression to local kids in the community. Autographed CDs will be available for purchase. Donations are also appreciated, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting 22-year-old Lauren Ault, a Gainesville brain tumor survivor.
